Posted: 21 AprilGatcha! Not only does this game use gatcha mechanics, but it also uses another extremely scummy method of monetization and that is the 'segmented collection' mechanic, which means that all your characters are broken up into 'segments' (you can see it in the screenshots actually) and if you want to upgrade your character from level1 to level2, then you first needs more 'segments' of that particular character before you can upgrade your character. OH, and that's in addition to the gold and other resources that you need to pay for the upgrade. So if you want to take your favorite character from level 10 to level 11, then you first need to buy more lootboxes and then just HOPE that you get the 'segments' for the character that you want to upgrade. So it's literally forcing you to spend real money each time you want to upgrade a character. In addition to those 2 scummy monetization methods, the game also has a 'premium subscription' available, which means you pay a monthly fee in order to become a 'VIP' and you can then get a bunch of bonuses. The game also has PvP and you can believe me when I say that ALL the top players have only legendary (5star) characters in their team that are highly upgraded, which means that unless you spend some BIG bucks on the game, then you'll never reach anywhere close to the top of the PvP rankings. Skill has very little to do with determining the winner in this game.
It's all just who has the best characters and most upgraded characters.TL:DR: Don't play gatcha games. There's a reason why Japan banned variations of this type of game. Posted: 20 AprilOkay, first off, I should say that the game is decent and I was happy to play it. However, you should be careful about getting a premium subscription. The game is a bit pay to play but not too much and a premium subscription would normally be all you need. You need to be careful, however, about upgrading to premium plus. If you do this mid month on a premium subscription they pro-rate your remaining days based on the difference in price.
This rule is mentioned in a very vague way so as to make it possible you might think you will get the full time from your previous subscription. This is important because there is a big reward at 90 days of subscription. I fell short by one day. They first told me it was because there were 29 days in Feb.
When I mentioned that there are 31 days in March they changed to 'it says it's a 30 day subscription'. I pointed out 3 x 30 is 90 and they switched to this ambiguously worded rule that can be interpreted as pro-rating your remaining time. I pointed out that I believe this rule to be vague on purpose because if it wasn't why not lead with this and an apology for the confusion. Personally I'm going to drop this game because if you have a rule that is this easy to confuse and it causes a customer who had more than just these three purchases in your game, good customer service wouldn't include a multiple email run around; and honestly I would give the customer the days credit they lacked in the hopes they remain a valuable customer that buys in game content on occasion. (They have gotten their monies worth out of me and the in game content costs them nothing.) So, they value pinching the pennies they have gotten out of me in the past more than the ones they could have gotten in the future. Buyer beware.
